Dream WORK
“The dream is the small hidden door in the deepest and most intimate sanctum of the soul. They are the guiding words of the soul” Carl Jung
There are myriad reasons why the integration of dream work can significantly enhance and accelerate inner growth. Substantial research in the realm of dreams has provided compelling evidence that underscores the relevance of dreams across various dimensions of our lives.
A thorough understanding and appreciation of the science of dreaming form an integral component of Jungian coaching.
Dreams, with their capacity to provide novel perspectives, unveil an internally generated world that resonates with a remarkable sense of authenticity.
Within the domain of dreams, two fundamental functions typically come to the forefront. The first is Compensatory, where the psyche strives to balance itself by offering what the dreamer may be lacking in their waking life. This becomes a valuable tool for gaining insights into unmet desires and ethical considerations. The second function is Educational, representing a significant quest in the coaching journey. The psyche, operating through the unconscious SELF, possesses an innate understanding of what is essential for the dreamer's personal growth. Embracing these dual functions of dreams becomes a vital and transformative aspect of the Jungian coaching process.
I actively encourage my clients to initiate a dream journal.
Keeping a record of your dreams provides a tangible and accessible resource for exploring the rich tapestry of your unconscious mind. This practice not only aids in capturing the nuances of your dream experiences but also serves as a valuable foundation for our work together.
