“A Jungian approach grounded in a holistic understanding of mind, body and psyche”

Encountering the Psyche Through a Jungian Lens

I offer a reflective space to explore the questions, conflicts and transitions that shape our lives and to consider their meaning within the wider landscape of the psyche.

Rooted in the analytical psychology of Carl Jung, my approach recognises that consciousness represents only one part of who we are. Beneath our familiar ways of thinking and behaving lie unconscious patterns, emotions, images, instincts and bodily responses that influence how we experience ourselves, our relationships and the world around us.

Jungian coaching invites you to become attentive to this deeper dimension. Together, we explore the relationship between the inner life of the psyche and the realities of outer life, attending to unconscious patterns, emotions, dreams and bodily sensations and to the tensions that arise between these inner forces and lived circumstances.

What has not yet found expression in words may sometimes be experienced through the body as a felt sense that something is not quite aligned. From a holistic perspective, we attend to these sensations alongside thoughts, emotions and images, allowing a fuller understanding of your experience to emerge.

Carl Jung, whose work forms the foundation of Jungian approach to coaching.

Individuation and the Inner Life

Jung described individuation as a lifelong movement towards greater psychological wholeness, becoming more conscious of the different and sometimes opposing, aspects of ourselves.

Our work may involve exploring recurring patterns and shadow aspects of the personality, what has been denied, neglected or insufficiently lived. Rather than seeking simply to remove what is uncomfortable, we approach it with curiosity and consider what it may reveal and what may be seeking expression.

Dreams, symbols, archetypal themes and Active Imagination may also form part of this exploration, opening a dialogue between conscious awareness and the deeper life of the psyche. At the heart of this work lies a Jungian question, What does the soul ask of me?

Mind, Body and Psyche

My Jungian approach is held within a holistic understanding of mind, body and psyche. The body can become another way of listening, as we attend to sensations, emotions and shifts in energy without assuming a predetermined meaning.

From a Jungian perspective, wellbeing is not a perfected state or the absence of conflict. It is an ongoing process of becoming more conscious of ourselves, engaging with the tensions and opposites within the psyche and developing a more integrated relationship between our psyche and the world in which we live.

My work is informed by my background within public health and healthcare, alongside my ongoing training as a Jungian Analyst Candidate.

I bring these perspectives together within a Jungian framework, attending to the subtle interplay of mind, body and psyche and to what may be seeking recognition, integration and fuller expression in one’s life.

We carry within our own soul, the key to expression
